Spain coach expects ‘tough’ clash with England

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente is expecting a tumultuous encounter against England in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final in Berlin.

“It will be a huge obstacle and we are looking forward to it with great hopes,” La Fuente said in a video for the Spanish Football Federation.

“England are a team with great physical strength, but we want to impose our style, control the match and try not to make any mistakes. In this final, the psychological aspects are also very important,” he continued.

Spain beat hosts Germany in the quarter-finals before defeating France 2-1 in the semi-finals, while England beat the Netherlands by the same scoreline in stoppage time.

England are chasing their first continental title, and are looking for their first major tournament title in 58 years, while Spain are seeking to win the title for the fourth time after winning it three times before in 1964, 2008 and 2012.
